The event welcomed more than 700 participants in an obstacle course and a 10 km trail run
Last weekend the town of Yaiza hosted a new edition of the Bestial Race Lanzarote, an event that had more than 700 participants and where sport and fun were protagonists during the two days of competition. The athletes accepted the challenge of completing the 10-kilometer race over an obstacle course on Saturday or as a trail run on Sunday. The epicentre of the event was the Plaza Alameda and the circuit ran through the area of La Degollada, against the backdrop of the village of Yaiza and the volcanoes of Timanfaya.
The competition began on Saturday afternoon, with the participants divided into two categories, Elite and Popular. All had to face a 10 km circuit with about 30 obstacles. Due to the anti-Covid measures in place, the starts were given in groups of 20 people every 5 minutes. The popular participants were penalized with burpees if they did not pass any of the obstacles, while the elites had to pass all the obstacles or they were disqualified.
