Why running a Kiteboarding Sports Club? The Sports Club “Kite Zone” or “Kite Zone Klub” (KZK) is a project that has been in our minds for some time now, but we had to take that step forward that sometimes is not easy and start working hard to make it happen.
It was obvious that we needed to start working on it because everyone wanted to practise kitesurfing in summer. So one of the main goals of the club was giving everyone the chance to do it in Lanzarote in general and, in Famara in particular. And we did it, in 2008 we opened the C.D. Kite Zone or Kite Zone Klub.
And also we have seen an increase in the number of kiters. Kitesurfing is in fashion. So it was required a quality service for kiters on the island, and here we come.
Our main goals are the following: to practise kitesurfing in a safe way, to have more services on the beach, to promote kitesurfing as a sport, to get support from the council, to practise further leisure activities…
We would like to give thanks to everyone who has supported us, thanks to their hard work we could make this dream come true.
We would like to work in collaboration with the schools of the island and support them. If you are a kiter, join us and we will make kitesurfing better together!
