Fun and sport in the streets of Arrecife in one of the races that has become established in our sports calendar #LanzaroteESD
A spectacular atmosphere was enjoyed by the audience in the streets of Arrecife due to the celebration of the sixth edition of the Ciudad de Arrecife Disco Night Urban Race. Saúl Castro and Aroa Merino won the 10-kilometer race, that has become established in our sports calendar with lots of entries and for the whole family.
A few minutes before nine o’clock in the evening with a great atmosphere thanks to the music of the DJs and the comparsa of Los Cumbacheros, nearly 1,200 people were ready to start the 5 or 10 kilometers race through the main streets of the capital of the island and the main emblematic areas such as El Reducto, the promenade or the natural lagoon forming el Charco de San Ginés, among others.
In the men’s category for the 10 kilometers race, Saul Castro and Francisco Cabrera had a duel throughout the race but finally it was Saul Castro who crossed the line at 30 minutes and 59 seconds. The second place was for Francisco Cabrera (31:38) and León Drajer came third (33:38).
In the women’s category Aroa Merino was the winner as in previous editions. This runner from Lanzarote was not only the winner of the race but also was the fourth fastest runner. Aroa Merino crossed the line at 34:00. The second place was for Delioma González (36:22) Gloria Cuéllar came third (37:51).

The 5 kilometers race received the hightest number of entries, nearly 800. Tinguaro Quintero led the race and won it once again crossing the line at 15 minutes and 35 seconds. The second place went to Michael Balck (16:43) and Suso Albar came third (16:45).
Beatriz Rodríguez was the winner in the 5 kilometers women’s category, crossing the line at 18 minutes and 56 seconds. Celia Romero came second (20:10) and the third place went to Naomi García (21:06).
