This past weekend the eighth occasion of this event was held, bringing together more than 500 participants
Lanzarote once again became the ideal setting for trail running, with the celebration of the eighth edition of the Tinajo You Trail, which last weekend surprised the more than 500 participants of 12 different nationalities with its impressive climate and unique volcanic landscapes. This event offered a route that stood out for its natural beauty, allowing runners to enjoy spectacular views under a perfect climate for the competition.
The Tinajo You Trail is not only a sporting event, but also a family event with activities designed for all ages. The first day was dedicated to children, as well as to hiking enthusiasts, who, on an interpreted route, discovered the history, flora and fauna surrounding Tinajo. The children’s race was a special moment, with the excitement of the littlest ones crossing the finish line and sharing the joy with their families.
On the second day, the three race categories were held early in the morning, with the Plaza de Los Dolores as the starting and finishing point. The main event, 33 km long, challenged the experienced trail runners with a route that included the Tabayba Mountain, the Volcano of the North, the Caldera Blanca and the Tenesar coast. The volcanic landscapes and the impressive views rewarded the participants’ efforts. Rudi Crespo and Verónica Suárez were crowned winners in this category.
The 14 km category, part of the Tinajo Popular Race Cup, was the most acclaimed, covering volcanic terrain and rural roads. Rayco Hernández and Audrey Bams took the victory. Finally, in the 8 km category, Hugo Pérez and Andrea Sampayo took the victory after completing a technical and fast route, enjoying the warmth and unbeatable views of Lanzarote.
Family and friends waited with excitement in Plaza de Los Dolores, where unforgettable moments were experienced at the finish line of one of the best mountain races in the Canary Islands.
