The V Lanzarote Bestial Race K10 Xtreme Yaiza exceeds expectations in its best edition
The Plaza de la Alameda in Yaiza has once again become the epicentre of the exciting V Lanzarote Bestial Race K10 Xtreme Yaiza, an event that drew more than 800 participants from up to 15 different countries. This obstacle course, which offered distances of 3, 5 and 10 kilometres, not only challenged the competitors, but also allowed everyone to enjoy the stunning natural scenery that surrounds this picturesque village.
The volcanic landscape of Lanzarote, in particular, played a crucial role in making this race unique, combining sport, endurance and the beauty of the setting. The runners, cheered on by assistants and volunteers, faced challenges that culminated in an exciting final combo, just before the finish line, where they were greeted by family and friends.
Among the big winners this year were Jessica Velasco and Maru Berradia, who were crowned in the Elite category. Velasco, who had already competed the previous year, expressed her admiration for both the race and the island: “coming to compete and getting to know an island as beautiful as Lanzarote is incredible”. For his part, Berradia highlighted the toughness of this edition, both mentally and physically, pointing out the perfect distribution of the obstacles and the psychological challenge of the final phase. Both had the objective of preparing as much as possible for the National Championship to be held in Arucas, Gran Canaria, and for the Trifecta Spartan World Championship, in Greece.
In addition, in the Starter Category, David Rodríguez Corona and Gara Hernández Salazar won the male and female classifications, respectively. In the Trex Category, José Raúl Martín Melián and Clara Llucía Baya took the top positions.
The celebration of the Lanzarote Bestial Race K10 Xtreme Yaiza reaffirms Lanzarote as a top-level sports destination, where the favorable climate allows outdoor events to be held throughout the year. This race not only strengthens the spirit of overcoming and endurance among its participants, but also promotes the enjoyment and protection of a unique natural environment in the world.
