Last Saturday morning, under the sun of #LanzaroteESD, the 27th edition of the Lanzarote International Marathon took place in the southeast coast of the island
The International Marathon started from Sands Beach Resort, Costa Teguise, at 7.55 am with the first kick-off for the wheeler category. Later, at 08.00 am, the Marathon category started, and so on, the rest of the categories, achieving a total of 2,400 participants.
After a lively day of running along the coast of Costa Teguise, Arrecife, Playa Honda and Puerto del Carmen, Gary O’Hanlon was the winner of the #LanzaMarathon running the whole distance in 02.27.20h. Che Compton (02.36.30) and Brian Hegarty (02.38.45) got the second and third places respectively.
In the women’s category, Alexandra Tondeur was the winner, running the whole distance in 02.51.01h. The second and third places went to Claudia Marietta (02.58.21) and Elena Genemisi (03.11.26) got the second and third places respectively.
