Last Sunday, the triathlon fans could enjoy a great day in the 4th edition of Nutricross, under the radiant sun of Puerto del Carmen.
A total of 160 participants met at the starting line with the illusion of succeeding in this peculiar cross triathlon, the only one of this category in Lanzarote.
Victors Vovrusko from CN Reales, was the first to get out of the water, followed very closely by Víctor Manuel González, and by the young triathlete Álvaro Bernal from Club Tridente Triatlón Tinajo.
In the women’s category, it was the Dutch Tessa Kortekaas who was leading the race followed by the local Isabel Quevedo and the British Gemma Haywood.
After an exciting cycling race, the men’s classification changed completely allowing Fernando Rodríguez from Club Tridente Triatlón Tinajo to lead the race; followed by his team mate Álvaro Bernal and Víctor Manuel González.
On the other hand, the women’s classification stayed the same during this second race.
Tessa Kortekaas became the winner (1:32:07), Isabel Quevedo got the second place and Paz Zarza the third one.
In the women’s category, Tessa Kortekaas gave no options to her rivals, stopping the clock in 1:32:07, the second position went to Isabel Quevedo, while finally the third place went to Paz Zarza.
The team “Todo por un sueño” was the winner in the men’s category, “Pasito a Pasito” was the winner in the women’s category and “Yerbeli Team” was the winner as a mixed team. More than twenty teams took part in this category in which each members had to complete one of the parts of the test.
