Lanzarote sports destination
Lanzarote has become a benchmark as a training destination for numerous teams and professional athletes who spend their training seasons on the island, and raise a buzz about it on their social networks by sharing images and experiences. At the end of February, the Spanish triathlete Javier Gómez Noya spent a few weeks training here and recognised that “Lanzarote is one of the best places in Europe to train for the cycling segment because of the great roads and low levels of traffic.”
The Movistar Team cyclist, Lluís Mas declared on one of his visits to Lanzarote that “the island has the right infrastructure to host a concentration of the best international cycling teams due to its climate, terrain and infrastructure.”
If you are thinking of travelling with your bike, there is a wide range of accommodation available and there are numerous establishments that will offer you the necessary services for the storage and care of your equipment. If you prefer to rent your equipment once you are on the island, there is a wide variety of establishments specialising in rental services, with the best brands on the market and a wide range of advice on different routes depending on the level of difficulty you are seeking.
