21 couples took part in the ninth edition of the Fotosub Lanzarote Mar de Lava and, for the first time, two couples dove holding their breath. During two days, the teams had the opportunity to look for and get the best pictures of the spectacular sea beds of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
The awards ceremony was held after a DJ session show. Before knowing the verdict of the jury in the different categories, the photographs taken by all the teams, the video of the competition and a short film made by Liken Films entitled “Origen” were screened.
Almost € 10,000 will be given as awards, including a cruise holiday to the Maldives, offered by Submaldives. According to Joaquín Vera, member of the Valonia Association and one of the organisers of the event: “One more year, we have been very impressed by the photos of the participants, which every year is even better and this is something that fills us with pride. It was not easy to choose the photographs. Our next challenge is to celebrate the tenth edition and we are trying our best to organise something very special to overcome the success we have had so far.”
The competition is organized by the Walloon Association (Rafael Mesa, Joaquín Vera and Félix Viña) and is sponsored by Promotur Turismo de Canarias, Turismo Lanzarote, Lanzarote European Sport Destination, Cabildo Insular de Lanzarote, Art, Culture and Tourism Centers and the City Council of Arrecife, also with the cooperation of Geoparque Lanzarote, Submaldives, Pastinaca Underwater Activities Club, Visanta, Sigma Canarias, Aqua Magazine, NU2 Magazine and Naviera Armas.
